Raise your voice for the river
Registration for this program is open 4 January-6 February 2023

Join youth from across North America in February 2023 to advocate for the future of the Columbia River Basin in preparation for the March 2023 UN Water Conference

Youth Forums for the Columbia River will organize synchronized, regionally-representative, youth-led forums to convene, collate, and elevate youth voices for a better water future in the Columbia River Basin in the context of the current renegotiation of the Columbia River Treaty and the UN 2030 Water Action Agenda.
The current renegotiation period for the Columbia River Treaty between the USA and Canada is a (closing) window of opportunity for youth to raise their voices and advocate for their future in the basin to decision-makers and negotiators.
The North American Youth Parliament Water has expertise in mobilizing youth voices across transboundary watersheds. Our connection to the Columbia River Basin is rooted in the lived experience of our general members and individuals on our leadership team. The NAYPW has also led youth-focused capacity-building activities in the basin including the YouthAct! Blue Peace Index ToolKit and our Young Professionals Blue Peace Whitepaper Program.

About the Forums Event
The Youth Forum will be a hybrid event involving local in-person Columbia River Basin hubs along with a synchronous virtual group. We will gather for networking, plenaries, and working breakout groups to learn and provide insight into youth goals for the future of the Columbia River Basin.
